I decided to do some price comparisons of various websites to see which one offered the best deal on Humminbird SI fish finders. I checked BassPro.com, Cabelas.com, GanderMountain.com and WestMarine.com and compared their prices on the Humminbird 997c SI GPS Combo. I expected the prices to be very close. Sometimes it almost seems like retailers keep their prices exactly the same for products like this. Sometimes maybe, but not this time. See the table below for details.
Best Deals
The best deals I found were at Cabelas.com and WestMarine.com. The best choice for you could depend on the state you live in (see State Sales Tax below).
The price at Cabelas.com is very good. They have the 997c SI on sale for $1,499.99 with free shipping (use promo code 9HOLIDAY at checkout).

WestMarine.com also has a very good deal on the Humminbird SI. Their price for the unit is pretty good, and they are also offering a 10% coupon.

State Sales Tax
Here’s the deal with state sales tax when you buy online. If the company you are buying from has a physical presence (store, warehouse, office) in your state, then sales tax must be applied. If the company has no physical location in your state, then your purchase is tax free.
Not So Great Deals
I was surprised that Bass Pro was not at the top of the list. They usually have excellent prices but today they fell short. I’ll compare prices on some other fish finders next week and see if they can do any better.

Hello, I don’t work a lot with international sales and shipping. Since you are asking here I assume that the HDS10 with StructureScan is not easy to get where you live. Many of the US sites provide international shipping, but it can be expensive and sometimes the warranty does not travel well. I checked BassPro and Cabela’s and they both charge an additional 45% which would be a lot of money on this order. Amazon looks like a better deal for you and I would suggest that you look there. They usually have very good prices and the international shipping doesn’t look that bad. I don’t see where they offer StructureScan so you might need to go elsewhere for that. Sorry I can’t be more help. Maybe another reader will be able to offer suggestions. Good luck.
