Old Info from August 2010
Humminbird recently announced the new 1198c SI Combo for the 2011 model year. This looks like a great new fishfinder/gps unit with some new features such as ethernet connectivity and a much brighter screen. There are probably dozens of other great new features that we just haven’t heard about yet. I’ll have some info here soon with specs and demo videos. When the new hardware comes out there are usually some new software updates too, so if you already have a Humminbird fishfinder you’re happy with, you may get another present from Humminbird via download.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the new Hummingbird 1198c fishfinder/gps combo in early 2011. The latest and greatest from humminbird, and that’s saying something right there! The 1198 promises to be an awesome new unit for 2011.

When will the Humminbird 1198c SI be released?
How much will the humminbird 1198 fishfinder/gps combo cost?
Exactly what new features will you get on the 1198c compared to the Humminbird 1197c?
How will the new Humminbird ethernet networking work and will there be other hardware to buy?
If the 1198 screen is twice as bright as the HB 1197c, how will that affect the draw on the battery?
Are there plans for the ll98 and 898 to communicate with the i-pilot?
Another excellent question. I can’t wait to see what Humminbird and Minn Kota are cooking up in the lab. I’ll try to get the answer to this too.
